A Bruise 02:00
This picture out of frame Step back dispute and mute, confusion sought without a name The guilt of never backing down Shoulders moulded to the sound Of voices, purple, black and blue Like a bruise And speak Louder still In borrowed space that time has yet to fill Yet this is what’s become When change recedes from what is needed Consolation to the numb So left exposed reclaim…the words by any other name Histories purple, black and blue Like a bruise And speak Louder still In borrowed space that time has yet to fill And seethe Honestly ’til You defend the space your lives are left to fill So bodies remember The time it takes for someone to believe The times you thought life’s better in defeat So bodies remember So bodies remember That lies support the barrier in-between Farewell to… The simpering remnants of shameful retreat So lead… So lead Bravely til you Defend your space with the lives you have rebuilt

Blank Slates 01:38
Some dark corner, it’s exactly what I expect I haven’t heard from you in years In conversations of no importance Your boring me to tears This hate that strips your face To create blank slates Through fresh eyes, you’re drowning out My heart is barely keeping up This generation is dissolving So join the fucking club! This hate that strips your face To create blank slates The hate that bares your face To create blank slates Inescapable, no longer able to share the same space My rejections are yet to fixate, Reflecting on all my mistakes This hate that strips your face To create blank slates The hate that bares your face To create blank slates YOUR HATE! BLANK SLATES!

Drugpig 01:21
My familiar strain Going to make it rain Indulged too much of the heavenly stuff collapsing membranes I’m running off the fumes Directing what I do And I see through you, I’ll talk to you again I can explain Stick to what you know I’m off to steal the show I speed up to slow you down, piss blood out your nose I see you don’t agree talking ‘bout bark and a tree You’ve got some gripe with this parasite? Fuck right off and leave! And then again appears… DrugPig, so never fear Reject protests, in one ear…..AND OUT THE OTHER It’s DrugPig, don’t interfere….OH NO!
4.
The cracks start to show As above, so below Reverberate irreverence, stress blatant your irrelevance Just one more failing ’til we control Blind faith…more excuse for self-interest Blind faith…to silence all who bear witness With nothing better to offer your time has truly come Blind faith…a tired, cold and frail defense “2,500 survivors and you didn’t even flinch” Blind faith…a haven to exploit the ones who need Blind faith…predatory thieves, innocence seized Sanctuary found, and solace to those who have denied.. Blind faith…tired, cold and stale belief “2, 500 stories of trust misplaced and abused Faith-based institutions have refused To take time to reflect on the failure of their culture And the seriousness of their matters are dismissed As endemic to the what we care to admit” But I’m not fucking buying it! No I’m not fucking buying it! And I’m not fucking buying it! No I’m not fucking buying it! No I’m not fucking buying it! No I’m not fucking buying it!

Overdue 02:26
There was hope in recognition Two hundred and forty + years fighting sovereignty The posterity left with the faint memory of family “Apologies for all indignity” The price of admission never held enough regard High enough to see the view That this golden soil cannot be sold With a promise of we’ll make do (and overdue) One day to remember One moment to reflect on the pain that we caused Generations, acculturation forced on communities With a pen because we failed with the sword. Never ceded, Always was, Always will be! Bated breath and the beating of chests, last gasp for the good old days Did you think that this was a culture lying in wait For admission?, Seditious acts won’t be expressed only in words Guilt’s for the birds, we do remind They remind! Never ceded, always was and always will be! Never ceded! Always was and always will be!

about

Raised on an overdose of breakneck riffs and charged words, The Phosphorus Bombs deliver an EP urgent in sound and message. With the release of ‘Blank Slates’, The Phosphorus Bombs have refined the elements of punk rock that we all fell in love with, from the socio-political to the self-deprecating.

Formed in 2014, the Sydney 5-piece serves as an outlet for long-time friends to get together and write the music they connected over. With members spanning continents, their music serves as a binding force to share tales of how punk rock indelibly changed them as human beings.
